About Hollywood Resumes
Who We AreWe met in 2010 as interns trying to break into the entertainment industry. Over the years, we've become good friends, and, aside from our love of dogs, one of the many things we have in common is that at each job we've held, we've found ourselves hiring interns, freelancers, and full-time employees. After conducting hundreds of interviews and weeding through even more resumes, we've learned that many qualified candidates simply don't know how to pitch themselves for the Hollywood jobs they want. Plus, our friends, interns, and colleagues frequently approach us for resume help, and we thought others might benefit from our collective experience.
That's why we started Hollywood Resumes. Between the two of us, we’ve worked in film, TV, and digital; at big corporations and small start-ups; in scripted and unscripted development, production, and writing; in news and social media; in event planning and marketing; in product placement; and in research. Unlike most professional resume writers, we are not recruiters or HR executives. Instead, we have actually worked in and hired for positions across Hollywood. In an industry where most jobs are filled through internal referrals, it’s crucial to impress not only the recruiters, but those in the actual departments that are hiring -- and we know what they’re looking for because we’ve had to consider prospective candidates ourselves. |
