Hollywood Assistant Coaching is a uniquely designed one-on-one training "boot camp" for those seeking assistant roles in Hollywood, or current assistants looking to sharpen their skills and earn a promotion. We will provide in-depth instruction and materials to prepare you for assistant roles and conduct hands-on skills training exercises to improve your performance. We can customize the training materials to a specific area of the industry upon request.
This program includes five one-on-one hour-long sessions held weekly or bi-weekly over Zoom.
Session 1: Understanding the Role of an Assistant. We will introduce the basic power structures of Hollywood and explain the primary hard and soft skills required to succeed in an assistant role.
Session 2: Answering Phones and Rolling Calls. We will walk you through best practices for managing a phone sheet and the proper etiquette for rolling calls. We'll also provide a phone script and run through mock scenarios.
Session 3: Managing Calendars and Scheduling Meetings. We will teach you how to manage your boss's calendar, share the nuances of scheduling meetings according to industry etiquette, and run through mock scenarios.
Session 4: Understanding Story. We will review the principles of storytelling and teach you how to assess a concept, write script coverage, and deliver creative feedback.
Session 5: Tracking Projects and Moving Up. We will teach you how to track submissions, internal projects, and the competitive landscape. We'll also share strategies for proving your value on the desk and earning a promotion.
Terms & Policies
Coaching programs are non-refundable. If you miss a session with less than 24 hours notice, or if you arrive more than 20 minutes late for your session, with or without notice, you will forfeit that session. If you choose to reschedule, you may purchase a session a la carte at the full service rate ($200).
If you elect to enroll in the payment plan and miss any payments - before or after the program is complete - a late payment fee of $15 per day will be assessed to your card on file or invoiced to you.
Coaching is not counseling or therapy. We will be walking you through exercises and strategies to help you figure out what you want and how to get there. We are not certified therapists or licensed counselors.
