8-Week Job Search Group Coaching Program

Our 8-week Job Search Group Coaching Program is designed for mid to senior-level entertainment industry or creative professionals seeking a combination of expert coaching and peer-based support to navigate the job search. Our aim is to empower you to set clear goals, maintain accountability, and approach your job search with a methodical strategy and confident mindset. The group setting is intended to help you grow your network and build a sense of community with peers who may be confronting similar challenges. 

This intensive, high-commitment program includes eight 90-minute sessions conducted weekly over Zoom. Sessions will include a mix of practical instruction delivered by the coach(es), group discussions, constructive feedback, brainstorming exercises, role play exercises, Q&A, and other tools. You will be assigned homework exercises to complete before each session. Between sessions, participants will have access to a moderated group chat. 

In addition to the group coaching program, participants will receive a copy of our book, The Complete Guide to Entertainment Industry Cover Letters, and a promo code for a 10% discount on our resume, LinkedIn profile, cover letter, and professional bio writing services and packages that may be redeemed within 6 months of the program.

We are currently building our first cohorts and are offering a special introductory rate of $850 for the program (a payment plan is available). The program price may increase for future cohorts. 

In order to build a cohesive, supportive cohort, we will be vetting participants through an application process. We will accept applications on a rolling basis. For more information, check out our FAQs below.

Program Overview

Session 1: Identifying your core professional persona. We will define your skills, interests, values, and primary achievements to help orient your job search.

Session 2: Contextualizing your skills and goals. We will refine your goals to focus on specific companies and role types that align with your skills and interests.

Session 3: Setting clear targets. We will finalize your list of target roles and companies, develop strategies for expanding your network, and put the outreach process into motion.

Session 4: Building a sustainable job search process. We will create a manageable structure and accountability system for you to leverage in your job search.

Session 5: Pitching yourself confidently. We will work on building your confidence and crafting your career story, which you’ll use in your resume, LinkedIn profile, networking, and interviews. 

Session 6: Tailoring your message in your job application materials. We will help you adapt the way you present your career story in your resume and LinkedIn profile as you apply for specific roles. 

Session 7: Preparing for job interviews. We will review job interview best practices, identify anecdotes that communicate your professional value, and share confidence-boosting techniques.

Session 8: Setting yourself up for future success. We will create a long-term accountability plan and provide tools for maintaining confidence.

Application Process

Candidates must apply and be accepted into the program to participate. We will build cohesive and constructive cohorts to best serve our clients individually and collectively. We will review applications on a rolling basis, and you will receive a link to purchase the program if you are accepted. We will guarantee to hold your spot for 48 hours after sending you the link to purchase the program.

Candidates who are a good fit for our program are mid to senior-level entertainment industry or creative professionals with at least 5 years of non-internship industry experience. Participants should have an idea of what they want to do next in their careers, but they may be feeling stuck for any of the following reasons:

  • Lack of appropriate job opportunities

  • Imposter syndrome or lack of confidence

  • Network is tapped out / unsure of how to utilize connections

  • Overwhelmed with the job search process

Because this is a group coaching program, participants should have a strong desire to build community and accountability with others, grow their network, and contribute to a supportive environment. Participants should be comfortable being open and honest in a group setting both in terms of sharing their own goals and/or fears and delivering constructive feedback.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits of group coaching vs. individual coaching?

Both group coaching and individual coaching are great options, and the best program for you is the one that meets your needs. The primary benefit of group coaching is that you will have access to other professionals to help you grow your network and gain peer support from other job seekers. The group dynamic can help you feel less isolated – being in community with other job seekers offers an outlet to vent frustrations, compare notes on the job market, give you accountability, and crowdsource opportunities from a wider range of people. Sharing your story and search with other job seekers and listening to their stories can often help you cultivate a more positive mindset and stronger sense of self, since you’ll be hearing from other people with similar struggles, and you’ll have the opportunity to lean into generosity. 

Another major benefit of group coaching is the cost. Our individual 8-week job search intensive coaching program costs $1750, whereas this program is $850. It can be difficult to invest in yourself when you are looking for work, and this program is an opportunity to get the support you need at a more affordable rate.

Individual coaching may be a better option for you if you need a more customized program. For example, if you need support figuring out what to do next, have a unique personal situation that requires individualized help, or need a shorter program, you may get more value out of our 1:1 coaching services. What happens if I get a job partway through the program?

If you get a job during the program, congratulations! We do not offer refunds, and would instead adapt our sessions to support you as you navigate your transition to a new job. However, if the timing of the group sessions no longer works with your work schedule, we will work with you to apply the value of any remaining sessions to an individualized coaching program or other equal service of your choosing. We would encourage you to stay in communication with the cohort so you can continue to nurture those relationships, as they may help you in the future!

I’m an early career professional and/or new to the entertainment industry. Can I participate in this program?

We don’t recommend this program for early career professionals, as the tools and strategies for an assistant-level job search are different from those for professionals later in their careers. We offer two Breaking into Hollywood packages, individual career coaching services, and a Hollywood Assistant Coaching Program that are designed for entry-level professionals. We may offer an early career group coaching program in the future. I’m seeking a transition out of entertainment. Is this program right for me?

It depends! If you are seeking creative roles outside of traditional film and TV and have a clear idea of what those roles are, yes! If you are exploring many paths or are unsure of where to start as you navigate a career transition, we do not recommend this program. It often takes clients several sessions to identify a completely new career path and confront some of the grief that can come along with that transition. In this case, we recommend our individual coaching services. Terms & Policies

Once purchased, this program is nonrefundable.

We do not offer makeups for missed sessions. If you miss a session, you will be assigned the next session’s homework, and a coach may review any assignments for the missed session via email. You are welcome to ask other cohort members for notes, and if the cohort unanimously permits, a recording of the session or portions thereof can be made temporarily available for you. 

This coaching program does not include a resume, credits list, LinkedIn profile, bio, or cover letter writing service. However, the package does include a 10% discount on any job application material preparation services or packages that you can redeem within six months of the coaching program’s end.

We do not tolerate any bullying, harassment, or breaches of confidentiality during or between sessions, or in any Hollywood Resumes-moderated chats or community groups. Violation of this policy will result in expulsion from the program without a refund.

If you elect to enroll in the payment plan and miss any payments - before or after the program is complete - a late payment fee of $15 per day will be assessed to your card on file or invoiced to you.

Coaching is not counseling or therapy. We will be walking you through exercises and strategies to help you figure out what you want and how to get there. We are not certified therapists or licensed counselors.

We are not a job placement service, and we will not submit your application for jobs, recommend specific open roles to you, or introduce you to other professionals outside the cohort. 

We will review and accept applications on a rolling basis. Once you are notified of your acceptance, you will receive a link to sign up and complete payment. We guarantee to hold your spot for 48 hours after notifying you of your acceptance. However, if payment is not submitted within that 48-hour window, we reserve the right to offer your spot to another applicant.
